► (1874-1965) Estadista y escritor británico. Primer lord del almirantazgo y ministro de la Guerra durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. Primer ministro después de las elecciones de 1951 y 1955. Son notables sus obras autobiográficas e históricas, entre las que destacan Marlboroug (1933-38) e Historia de los pueblos de lengua inglesa (1956-58). Fue premio Nobel de Literatura en 1953.
